NTS Launches First Certified ZigBee Smart Energy Test Harness
National Technical Systems' (NTS) ZigBee Smart Energy test harness is the first complete certified test harness of its kind, supporting all of the Smart Energy clusters. The test harness will form the cornerstone for certifying new SE devices in the future.
Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) May 27, 2008 -- National Technical Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: NTSC) (NTS), a leading provider of engineering services and one of only two authorized ZigBee test labs, announced today that it has successfully launched the first complete ZigBee Smart Energy (SE) test harness.
The ZigBee Smart Energy (SE) Profile defines the standard behaviors of secure, easy-to-use in-home devices, which are critical components of emerging energy conservation initiatives applied by utility companies worldwide supported by ZigBee member companies.
Using different Energy Portal Services as well as other SE devices (such as thermostats, in-home displays, load controllers, meters), NTS was able to verify the functionality of its harness and thus, received approval from the ZigBee Alliance of having the first ZigBee Certified test harness to fully support all of the Smart Energy clusters.
The NTS ZigBee Smart Energy test harness, designed and developed by our High Technology Engineering Service group, will form the cornerstone for certifying all types of new SE devices in the future and is an integral part in the assurance of interoperability as well as correct functionality for all these types of products in real deployment situations. The ability to certify ZigBee Smart Energy products worldwide is an excellent complement to NTS' long-established ZigBee Compliant Platform (ZCP), Manufacturer Specific Profile (MSP), and IEEE 802.15.4 testing services.
