Four Years and Still Cooking! The Tillamook Macaroni and Cheese Recipe Contest is Back
Cooking Enthusiasts Nationally have the Opportunity to Win up to $7,500 in Cash
Tillamook, Ore. (Vocus/PRWEB ) May 12, 2008 -- Think you have what it takes to become the next "Big Cheese"? Tillamook Cheese today announced the acceptance of recipe submissions for the fourth annual Tillamook Macaroni and Cheese Recipe Contest. The contest dedicated to an all-time favorite comfort food continues to evolve, and returns this year with a twist, giving amateur food lovers a chance to win $5,000 in the national cook-off and $2,500 in the "People's Choice" online voting campaign.
This year foodies from across the country will have the opportunity to submit their homemade macaroni and cheese recipes on the contest's new Web site, www.MacaroniAndCheeseAndCheese.com/contest. Select recipes will be tested by a professional chef and narrowed down to the top six recipes in the country. The six chosen finalists will compete in the grand finale cook-off in Portland, Oregon to take place on October 24, 2008. The finalists and their guests will be flown out to Portland, where they will cook their recipes from scratch in front of an audience and, most importantly, a panel of national celebrity judges and culinary experts. Finalists will compete for the 2008 title, $5,000 cash and 25 pounds of Tillamook cheese. Not to worry, the first runner up will receive $2,000 cash and 20 pounds of Tillamook cheese and the second runner up will receive $1,000 cash and 15 pounds of Tillamook cheese.
The zesty addition to this year's contest is the first ever "People's Choice" winner. The six chosen recipes will be announced and online voting will begin August 22, 2008. With your help, one of our six finalists will walk away with $2,500 in cash. The "People's Choice" winner will be announced at the grand finale cook-off.
The deadline for online recipe submissions is Monday, July 28, 2008, at 12:01 a.m. (PST). Entries can also be mailed to Macaroni and Cheese Recipe Contest at 1100 SW Sixth Avenue, Suite 1425, Portland, OR 97204-1014. Mailed recipe submissions must be postmarked by Wednesday, July 23, 2008 to be considered with other recipe submissions.
