Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 6, 2008 -- The fine art of custom knifemaking has been elevated to a whole new realm of excellence of which must be seen and handled to really appreciate. After 39 years one might think that the art of knifemaking would have reached a plateau, but this is not so. Don't miss the Knifemakers' Guild Show and the opportunity to mingle with some of the world's famous custom knifemakers from the United States and 12 other countries, exhibiting and selling the artistry of their custom made knives.

Each year four knifemakers are selected to create special knives for the Knifemakers' Guild Show. This year Marvin Solomon created a drop point hunter with a nickel silver guard and intricately pinned ivory scale, Gayle Bradley designed a two blade trapper with double bolsters and oosic scale, Warren Osborne created a gentleman's lockback with Damascus blade an interframe construction. The scales are pearl, blacklip mother of pearl into white pearl. And Bill King designed a gentleman's folder with heat colored Damascus bolsters, file work and a mushroom shaped thumb stud inlaid with a ruby cabchon. The scales are ivory with colored scrimshaw. Any one attending the knife show will be eligible to win one of the four knives and winners do not have to be present at the drawing.
