Kanye West's Director/Choreographer Wilberto Directs Show in Honor of the Late Claude Thompson
Celebrity Director/Choreographer Wilberto is set to direct "Jazz Dance LA'08/Tribute to Claude Thompson" at the El Portal Theater - Friday June 19th at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday June 20th at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Hollywood, California (PRWEB) June 20, 2008 -- Celebrity Director/Choreographer Wilberto is set to direct "Jazz Dance LA'08/Tribute to Claude Thompson" at the El Portal Theater - Friday June 19th at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday June 20th at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Jazz Dance LA is a non profit organization for which the late Claude Thompson served the Artistic Director.

Show producer Anne Charmillot states that when it came to looking for a Director it was an obvious choice that Wilberto was the one. "Claude has told me many times over the years that he saw in Wilberto the artist who would carry the torch ..."
The show will include top choreographers (distinguished and new) who have been invited by the committee.
Donald McKayle (Sophisticated Ladies), Keith Young (Rent, Bette Midler), Jaime Rogers (Elvis, Fame TV show), to name a few.
Wilberto says, "I'm going to do what I do best and that is to integrate today's genre with yesterday's genre of dance-theatre.
"I'm also going to do some things that you don't usually see in Theater or Concert Dance.
"There will be some surprises. Claude used to watch all my work, especially my work with Kanye West. He loved my drama and my ability to do work that looked like it wouldn't come from the mind of just dance."
Wilberto has also worked with 50 Cent, Madonna, P Diddy, Sting, Micheal Jackson, Paula Abdul and Calle 13, to name a few.
