American Agent Online works similar to an instant message (IM) program. "It's sort of like jumping on Instant Messenger to have a quick conversation before dinner's ready - fast and easy," said Richard Brazil, the President and CEO of American Agent Online Corporation.
In 2006, 87% of consumers began their home-search online. Disproportionately, 72% of Realtors took 4 hours to respond to website inquiries (NAR Annual Survey 2006). "Many agents feel that if they have a website, they're online. But, are they really available to people? We found a better way to meet people's expectations," explained Brazil.
"American Agent Online peels away the frustration that people feel when they're forced to wait for a response email from an Agent. Now people can feel comfortable, keep their anonymity and get some helpful information from some terrific agents out there," said Richard Brazil.
Brazil secured Patent Pending status and Incorporated the venture, in April 2007. American Agent Online is a nationwide service, allowing licensed real estate agents to sign up for a small fee and go online to dialogue with consumers 24 hours a day and to possibly get a new client.
As of May 2008, American Agent Online has about 1,000 real estate agents as members and about 20 to 50 are available during different times of the day to chat. "It's a numbers game" says Richard, once we have about 10,000 agents signed up as members we believe that many more will be online and available to chat with buyers and sellers at all times of the day.
