ECHO River Trips Offers Great Vacation Deals on Idaho's Middle Fork

This summer looks to have the best river flows in over a decade due to a well above average snowpack in Idaho. Bookings are down for rafting trips on Idaho's Middle Fork of the Salmon River so and outfitter is lowering prices to compensate for the poor economy and increased travel costs.

Salmon, Idaho (PRWEB) May 22, 2008 -- This is the year to take the family down Idaho's Middle Fork of the Salmon. The river is going to have the best flows in a decade, and there are some great deals to be had. ECHO River Trips, the largest outfitter on the Middle Fork, have discounted its August trips by $400 per person. This major price break will more than offset the increased cost of getting to Idaho for the trip.

We have had lots of our clients tell us that they are reluctant to come to Idaho this year, because of the uncertainty in the economy and high travel costs
The Middle Fork serves up America's premier alpine whitewater experience, featuring 75 to 100 miles of pristine wilderness, exciting (but not death-defying) rapids, very clear water, excellent trout fishing, and natural hot springs. An above average snow pack and cool spring have combined to provide excellent water flow through the summer, making August trips more exciting than they have been in over ten years.

But non-westerners don't know about the great water, and seem to be putting off their trip to the west because of increased costs of getting there. "This is a year that Middle Fork boaters will be talking about for a long time," said Zach Collier, ECHO’s general manager. "This is not a year to miss."

"We have had lots of our clients tell us that they are reluctant to come to Idaho this year, because of the uncertainty in the economy and high travel costs," says Collier. "This is very frustrating to us, because we have such good water. We decided to give people such a big discount because we don't want them to miss this special opportunity."

About ECHO River Trips:
ECHO was founded in 1971 by Joe Daly and Dick Linford and quickly grew to run trips on 19 stretches of river in five states by the early 1980's. ECHO now runs trips on Dick and Joe's two favorite rivers: Idaho's Middle Fork of the Salmon River and Oregon's Rogue River.
