A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, R. Allen Downey worked for 31 years at Square D Company as a marketing manager. His writing experience has ranged from technical articles in industrial periodicals to contributing editor of "Switchgear and Control Handbook," published by McGraw-Hill. While serving in the U.S. Navy, Downey spent time in the Far East, which provided inspiration for this novel and his first book, Kwatee.
